"pick of the litter" information, resources & connections

Today I took Atticus to the Vet. Atticus, a lovely Persian kitty cat that showed up at our door years ago with terrible mats and mangled teeth.

After years of trying to give him the most comfortable and loving life possible, Atticus left us this afternoon.

He had cancer and the tumors had spread to his throat. He does not hurt anymore. We kissed him good-bye and snuggled him so.

He was teeny, tiny, with the sweetest disposition. He lovingly allowed baths and the blow-dryer. He lived for warm laps and always, always, always purrrred in delight--even to the dire end he was purring.

The kitty who had been dumped after his owner died of cancer, found a nice warm home where he could find love before he himself got cancer.

Atticus was the greatest. I will continue to miss him terribly. No kitty meowed quite the same, nor expressed such patience and tenderness as he.

We love you, Atticus

Hi Libby,
I'm so sorry to hear about Atticus. I know how hard it is to say goodbye, and to see them in pain. I'll always miss the ones that have found me, and are now gone. They're so important! I hope you and your wonderful family can find peace in Atticus' passing. Take care.

I’m so sorry about Atticus. I lost my kitty to age more than 2 years ago and I still miss him and dream about him sometimes. Even though it’s difficult, remember he had a wonderful life with you and he wouldn’t have changed a thing.

How wonderful that you and Atticus could add to each others' lives. He purred to the end because YOU made his life special! What more could a cat ask for?

Just got a abandoned 7 month old grey female kitty short hair, she is people shy. I will call animal control and Pixie if I can't find her a safe, loveing and financially stable home. Let me know.
