Back on track

I had an awesome vacation and met some really wonderful "dog" people.
I had the awesome opportunity to meet a wonderful, wonderful dog person. She is also a semi-professional photographer. While staying with her, she took photos of all my dogs, but the ones that really stood out were of Boo, my Staffy mix.
I am including a slideshow link to everyone. If anyone would like to use this as a Bully Breed ad, let me know

My trip to California

For the last five years I have been a part of a huge dog community that spans all countries. Mainly the U.S, but it has given me a great opportunity to meet people who own the same breeds as me, network and just meet some really great people.
Anyway I haven't had a vacation for years and decided that this year I would take one. I am going to California to meet some of the great people who have become my friends from this dog community. Although we have only communicated online or by phone, they… Continue

I am now doing something I love!

Well besides being a dog walker/pet sitter and mom to four ..uuh make that six dogs..
Years ago I used to draw, nature, animals, flowers, etc...I even sold a few but...it wasn't serious.
As a result of the downturn in the economy, I along with a few people I am guessing are trying to supplement their income.
I was staring at one of my dogs photos when I started thinking how I could
supplement my income without compromising my business hours, which are at any given time..day or night.
I used to d… Continue

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah. I am sure we all will be happy to put the last two weeks of weather out of our minds.

I for one will be. I was fortunate to have a four-wheel drive to get to all my clients pets and none of my clients had to cancel their vacation plans. At times, I will say it felt like I was four-wheeling in the back country when it came to some of these hills. It makes me appreciate the fact I grew up in snow country.

The only thing I… Continue

Hi!
Good to see you back on the site! Would love to have you as part of Doggie Dash again this year. Just go to Team pdxdog.com on the OHS website and you can sign up. We will be more organized this year and I'd love to get a solid team together so we can win a table again.
Hope all is well with you and the pups.

Your pictures are hilarious! I just looked through them with my husband and we laughed hard at a few of them especially :) I love the group of scarfed dogs in the snow picture.

Your pics of your dogs are hysterical! Makes me realize I need to start taking more of my "kids". You're inspiring! I recently bought a fabric phoo-phoo crown at Goodwill with the idea of using it in a dog photo, will have to try it out. It's gold lame' with dangly beads and is a hoot on the dogs.

Your pug painting is just beautiful! I saw it when you posted it for the members to see. I think you definitely have a profitable career ahead of you. It's just a matter of connecting with enough people who want portraits. People love their paintings. It's such a heartwarming feeling when someone gets their painting and they have happy tears in their eyes - especially people who have lost their pet. I think Andrea is planning a get-together. She said she'd post it in the events calendar and also send out an e-mail to everyone. I want to attend the get-together, too, and meet other dog lovers. So many times I get requests for this or that, or a breeder of such and such a breed, so it's nice to have information to pass along to my clients and friends.
Keep up the beautiful work! If you want to get a body of work collected quickly, you can volunteer to paint your neighbors' and friends' dogs and then borrow their paintings for display when you need them. Good luck and blessings, Connie and Jesse

Hi! Nice to meet you, too!!! I used to use colored pencil but it just took me hours and hours to get anything done. I'm *much* happier using acrylics. But the colored pencils taught me how to mix and use color. With colored pencil you can interrupt your work, too, and come back to it just fine. I use a wet pallet, and then I'm able to come back to my paintings without having the paint get all dried up.
Your dogs sure are toooo cute!!! ~ Connie ;-)
