You guys are going to love it. We walked along the river for miles, it was very easy and Ellie could go in and out of the water whenever she wanted - which was a lot.

I would bring some of your own snacks, fruit, etc. as the little market is great, but a little high in price.

Outside of Sister's there is a great place to go and stay with dogs right on the Deschutes River, it's called Camp Sherman. Ellie and I went out there and had a great time. There are some dog friendly cabins and the river is a great swim for the pooch! I think it was called Cold Springs Resort. Go to www.metoliusriver.com for information.

At 10:12am on April 24, 2008, Furry Godmothers said…: I spoke to the owner of the dog in our group who was having skin problems. The name of the medication is Staphage Lysate (Staphylococcus Aureus Phage Lysate) for canine pyoderma. It is a subcutaneous injection that is supposed to help the immune system be less sensitive to staph infections.
It appeared to really help reduce the rashes. The injections were weekly for about 3 months. He received this medication from Dr. Wilson at Forest Heights Veterinary Clinic who would be able to answer any further questions about it. Good luck!
