I have been training dogs in obedience/good manners and tracking for over eleven years, and have been assisting dogs and their families for over eight years.
I have attended numerous conferences, seminars and workshops on dog behavior and training issues and have achieved the status of Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT).
I am the Head Instructor for Project Pooch (pooch.org) where I help correctional facility youths train shelter dogs for adoption. I have titled dogs in tracking and competition obedience and am a Canine Good Citizen evaluator.
My dog Sita and I are a DoveLewis therapy dog team and participate in the Read to the Dogs program for children through the Multnomah County library system.

Scott,
I love Project Pooch and have met with Susie many times. Apart from running pdxdog.com I am an exceptional grant writer, program planner and evaluator. I have mentioned several times that I think Project Pooch is a very fundable project. If you ever want to talk about this let me know.

Have you seen the show "Cell Dogs" On animal planet? it the same idea as project pooch but with hardened crimanls, usually people who have been in jail for years, and will remain there for life. It is absolutely amazing so watch those hardened, violent, criminals transform when they have a dog to take care of. The one i watched was about the Reno prision. Before the dogs came, it was known as the most violent prision in America, with physical fights everyday. As soon as the dogs came, no more fights and the innmates and officers actually became friends through the dogs. it was truly touching, it certaintly brought tears to my eyes! Oh, i wanted to ask you if we could feature you for our March group? usually we do rescues, but I totally support your cause and would like to raise some money for you guys! we donate a $1 of every "second chance" item in our store and then whatever event that is happening that month we work it into a fundraiser for the group. let me know! We donated a giftbasket to your auction in November i believe it was, but we would like to do more. info@theactivecanine.com
Hi Scott! I love the work you do with Project Pooch. I work with kids and dogs in a different setting, but I know the power of canines with our youth. It is amazing to watch kids realize that they are effective leaders by practicing self control.
