- welcome. tell us a bit about yourself.
- I am a very busy lady! I am finishing a doctorate in education, trying to start a business (private/alternative school for high school students), and I serve on various committees and boards in education. On top of all of that, I spend time spoiling my pets, doing home and yard improvement projects, and engaging in a variety of hobbies.

- My heart's soulmate, Hero, a lovely manx cat, passed away on Oct. 17 from kidney failure. In my mind she is still here. Canvas, the middle child, is a tortie cat who is eight years old. My lovely pit bull, Lotus, is the spoiled baby of the family and at four years old held the position of youngest -- I should say that she still holds that position until we bring Bunny, a cat, home from the shelter on Saturday, and Nick & Nora, kittens, home from a foster family in November. We also have two male betta fish (kept separately, of course): PClaudio & Queen Leo the Butch.
I must say that although I have (or will have) many cats, I am not the crazy cat lady. Pit bulls, too, have my heart. I've had labs, rotties, and retrievers, but found the perfect breed for me when I met Lotus and learned about pit bulls -- a great breed, and Lotus is an amazing dog! If Mary Poppins were here she would say that Lotus is "practically perfect in every way."
