That's wonderful. Danes do need help & that's a wonderful thing to do. Are you familiar with the Yahoo list: whitedanes moderated by Mark Sayer -- it's for deaf Danes. Private mail me if you want more info.

Thanks Linda, I would like to close this post for now, we are thinking of going a different direction....we have found there maybe more of a need for Great Danes in the Portland area to be fostered until they can be adopted...so we are going to see…

Behave!

Sorry I've been MIA....I'm getting over a case of cancer.

Hi Everyone,
Not everyone knows this, but a few months ago, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I've been fighting the good fight and completed my rounds of Chemotherapy at the end of December. I'm recovering slowly from the treatment and my prognosis is good. I want to thank all of you who have known about my illness for your support and friendship. I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of help and support I've received from the Portland dog community. It had reinforced to me that there is… Continue

County Animal Services

I went to my county animal control today to return a foster that I had for a few days. For those of you that don't know, I worked for years in a county animal control and it really was a huge reason that I became a professional dog trainer.

County Animal Controls get a bad rap and are often overlooked as charities and adoption resourses because many people see them as "the bad kill shelters" and that mindset continues the cycle of animals going to sleep due to treatable illnesses like"kennel co… Continue

Thank you so much for all you have done for Éowyn. Her being a runway model in this year's Boutiques Unleashed would never have happened without the good foundational training you provided.

Hi Denise,
I'd love it if you'd join my group, Portlanders Against Breed Bans! We're trying to keep everyone up to date about the proposed legislation and it'd be great to have you in the group!

Hi Denise,
I enjoyed meeting you at last weekend's Business Owners meeting! As the owner of a dog walking and pet sitting business in Portland, I get a lot of client requests for referrals to quality dog trainers. I would love the opportunity to meet you and/or your team of trainers to familiarize myself with Behave. And, on a personal note, my husband and I would be interested in getting our own dog Hailey into a few classes to continue to keep her well-socialized and mannerly. Would you be available to meet for coffee sometime?
Thanks!
Amy

Hi Denise!

I am so sorry for the delayed response! I didn't make it to the conference, but did have dinner with the Dunbars afterward and heard it was fantastic! I would love to have lunch with you sometime soon!

We LOVE you too Denise! Thank you for your support--I thought the article in the recent Spot Magazine was 'spot on' in highlighting Behave. See you at the Conference, I call dibs for the seat next to Ian and/or Pam!! :-)

Thanks Denise,
I just posted something on the main page. Gail's post in really inappropriate for pdxdog. This is not the forum for attacks on one of our member organizations that we support. They do not have an easy job!

Hey girl. Still want to do that "trainers" dinner thing at my house. I am hoping to get a big group together that meets every 3 months or so to go over "newer" training tips and how we as a group can install legislation for animal rights. I am not sure what we could call the group but I do plan on creating other groups like animal medical and animal groom, with these three groups we could then meet once a year and go over the final goal of changing current legislation. My ideas for new legislations are endless. I know you are busy but I would really like you to be one of my "board" members of the training group, the board members would be the ones that take the new proposals to Salem and City Hall. There would be board members in each of the 3 groups. Then we could collectivly aproach the government with our ideas. The board members would also be the ones that conduct the meetings and gather up all the concerns and then narrow the focus of the fight to one law to be passed in favor of the animals. I am hoping to get 3 board members per group and at least 20 reliable people in same said industry per group. The bonding with "like" people would be enourmous and the collective mind of "fight for animal rights" would be gratifying, at least for me. I am looking for state law attorneys to come to the once a year group board meeting to go over correct possible legislation, it would be nice to make this group non-profit then we could record all our time and be able to write it off with our taxes along with other financial obligations that may acrue via get togethers and attorneys. What do you think?

I just want to say one more time how much respect I have for all that you do for dogs. You are truly walking a "path with heart" and I wish for you every success that you desire. I just spoke with a young couple that you have been helping, and once again am amazed how many of us there are out here... leading with our hearts.
