That's wonderful. Danes do need help & that's a wonderful thing to do. Are you familiar with the Yahoo list: whitedanes moderated by Mark Sayer -- it's for deaf Danes. Private mail me if you want more info.

I would like to close this post for now, we are thinking of going a different direction....we have found there maybe more of a need for Great Danes in the Portland area to be fostered until they can be adopted...so we are going to see if we can assist with the big dogs realizing they will be much harder to place than a little dog...then if the right little dog comes along we see what our situation is at that time.

I think we all have personal preferences -- I don't care if you do it privately or publicly, but I do prefer to know if a dog is being ruled out & why -- but that's my preference -- hope you all are staying warm...BRRRRRRRR!!

I did look at Tater, he is cute...we were hoping for a 20-25 lb dog but we might come look at him....he looks sweet!

I think it would be nicer to respond privately or not at all if you don't want a dog - instead of putting out a general email to everyone about all the reason you don't want the dog.

Anne -- Did you look at little Tater on the Pet Adoption Network site: www.pan.petfinder.com ? His photo makes him look like a large dog, but he's not -- he's about 40-45 lb. I have some pretty narrow breed preferences, but I really liked this boy. He's just a sweetheart.

Thanks for the post about Ziggy, but I don't think a Pit would work for us, my husband is afraid of them and we have grandkids - so I don't want the grandkids to learn to fear ANY dog (they are great with Boscoe) and of course I wouldn't consider a dog my husband has preconceived ideas about as dogs can sense how you REALLY feel. I know his fears are biased due to the breed and that many of the Pits and Pit crosses are very gentle, kind dogs but I haven't gotten to the point where I am going to re-home my husband, so for now, I need to pass..Thank you for the post and I wish you good luck with him, he has kind eyes... Anne

Have you posted Ziggy with Animals First Foundation circulation list? They seem to post a lot of pits and have a number of contacts/resources.
