Four years ago my dog Jackson and I began a battle with cancer and won. Now he's been diagnosed with Hyperparathryroid Disease - this is the primary version, so it is not related to nutrition. For some reason his parathyroid just shifted into overdrive. The vet has proposed a surgery to remove the parathyroid, however the cost is not feasible for me. I've helped a lot of other sick dogs through nutrition, but from what the vet says and what I've researched, there isn't anything nutritionally that I could do to make a difference. Has anybody else had experience with Hyperparathyroid disease, or know other vets who can give me some ideas on what we can do to make Jackson comfortable? I would be grateful for any assistance.

Hi Rick,

Let's see what we can do to help you. I've featured your post and would also advise your posting this in the Medical Issues Group. They are fairly active.

I would also contact Courtney Anders Vet, Pearl Animal Hospital. You can click through to her in the MarketPlace.
I'll keep thinking too.
